Workplace Innovation
What's the difference between improvement and innovation? What about between modernization and innovation?
What's the difference between improvement and innovation? What about between modernization and innovation?Improvement kind of explains itself: it's the ongoing process of seeking to do an established task better. Modernization can be seen as bringing an existing process into a contemporary context, like moving from a typewriter to a word processor, or from postal mail to email - it's the same process, just with newer tools.
Innovation is about coming up with an entirely new way or devising an entirely new technology. AI can be seen as an entirely new technology, and hybrid work can be seen as an innovation – a mew method of blending work life and home life to create an entirely new method of working.
These changes come with challenges, of course. Not everyone wants to do things a new way, especially if the old way seems to work fine for them. But the truth is times are changing and companies must not just modernize – they must also innovate and that required a shift in culture and attitude at every level. This course dives into a variety of Workplace Innovation options and is tailored to speak in terms of the workplaces that students come from, such as healthcare, accounting, law or anything else.
Students will learn:
Practical exampes of innovationThe sources of reluctance and pushbackHow to employ brainstorming and design thinking to innovateHow to establish an ongoing culture of innovation within an organization How to measure progress and asses ROI on innovation effortsHow to locate useful resources and case studies to assist in the process
Our sessions are interactive, and wherever possible, used anonymized case studies drawn from the pre-course assessments.
